El Estudio Restaurant
Brand Identity, Logo Design
2021

Seeking to establish a timeless, nostalgic visual identity, I created a bold logo emblem and secondary icons for the new Vancouver restaurant, El Estudio—a Mexican Cantina located on Hastings Street. The end result features a creative direction that inspires a rural, rustic feeling, while still appealing to the contemporary restaurant go-er.

Inspired by rugged hand painted signs of Mexico, with a nod to the A’telier building that houses the restaurant, I conceptualized a warm and inviting community space for artists, makers and fixers to come together.

Design Process

Several alternate logos were produced in the early stages of development before settling on the final lock up. Red, yellow and black were chosen to represent El Estudio. Yellow represents the warm sun and red represents the spice in the food, as well as tying it back to the owner’s Mexican roots.
